Our honesty page

Every app in this category promises willpower in a box. Here is what Vowlock actually does, stated plainly enough that you can hold us to it.

No iOS blocker is unbreakable

Not ours, not anyone's. Vowlock uses Apple's Screen Time technology, which is the strongest tool iOS gives an app for this, and it can still be undone by someone determined enough. We will not tell you otherwise to make a sale. What Vowlock does instead is make breaking a vow cost something real: you sit through the break ritual and watch the recording of yourself asking you not to. Most urges do not survive that mirror.

Relapse is data, not shame

If you break a vow, Vowlock does not scold you, guilt you, or send you a passive-aggressive notification. The broken pane goes onto your wall as a fact, and it reforges after seven kept days. The wall is a record, not a report card.

Nothing leaves your iPhone

Your pleas, your written vow lines, your heartbeat, and the list of apps you block stay on your device. There is no account and no upload. Because the blocking runs through Apple's Screen Time, Vowlock cannot see the names of the apps you chose even if it wanted to; iOS hands us opaque tokens, not app names. The full detail is in our privacy policy.

What we do measure

We collect anonymous product analytics (which screens are used, whether a vow was sealed or broken) and, if you allow it when iOS asks, advertising measurement that tells us which ad brought you here. Neither one carries the content of your vows. You can decline the tracking prompt and the app works exactly the same.

What is free, and what is not

Your first vow is free forever, with the complete ritual and full strictness. That part is not a trial and will not be taken away. Vowlock Plus adds breadth: more simultaneous vows, recurring schedules, your full Promise Wall history, widgets, and urge insights. It is a monthly or annual subscription, or a one-time lifetime purchase, and the price is shown before you buy.

What Vowlock is not

It is not a security product, not a parental-control system for someone else's phone, and not a medical device. It offers no medical, psychological, or therapeutic advice. If your device use feels compulsive in a way that frightens you, please talk to a qualified professional; an app blocker is a tool, not treatment.
